Book Review - Sweet Sanctuary

I review for BookSneeze®

This week I had the privilege of reviewing Sweet Sanctuary by By Sheila Walsh and Cindy Coloma.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. The description told of family and estrangement and the struggles so many of us deal with in this area. It's promise to weave together the good and the bad held very true. The author takes you on a journey with this family of dealing with demons, regret and pain and comes together beautifully in the end.

I found the book to be beautifully written. It was the perfect combination of raw simplicity and a pace that sucks you in quickly. It only took me a few hours to read this book because it was so hard to put down. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who has dealt with past struggles with their family.

Book Review - God's Promises for the American Patriot

I review for BookSneeze®

This time I had the pleasure of reviewing God's Promises for the American Patriot. I requested the book for my husband because this is more of his kind of book. Before gifting it to him I read it. It definitely is more of his kind of book than mine. I did find the book very well written and I greatly enjoyed the passages that talked about what God's intentions were for our country.

I found this would make a GREAT gift. It is something that can be read very quickly or at a slow pace depending upon the reader. It is also the kind of book that could be read over and over (if you want to review the passages). It is not the best book I have read recently but not bad either.

Book Review - A Place Called Blessing

I had another wonderful opportunity to read and review a book through Book Sneeze. As an avider (and fast) reader this program is awesome!

I review for BookSneeze®

This time I read A Place Called Blessing: Where Hurting Ends and Love Begins By John Trent with Annette Smith. When I chose the book I wasn't 100% sure whether I was ordering fiction or non-fiction. Overall it sounded like a great story so I was willing to try it either way. I found the book very interesting and well written from the start. It was fast paced and an easy read. I moved through it so fast I couldn't believe it.

I found this to be an extremely touching book. A child who doesn't believe he can be loved learns what love is. A story can't get more touching than that. As someone who has not experienced this type of hardship it certainly helps give a glimpse into what life is like when a tragedy strikes. I am hoping it can help me to be more empathetic to people who have had such horrible experiences.

Overall it is a great book. I definitely recommend it.

Book Review - The Little Red Book of Wisdom

Bringing you the latest Book Sneeze Review.

I review for BookSneeze®

This time I read The Little Red Book of Wisdom penned by Mark DeMoss.

I got this book as a gift for my Father in Law but read it first (couldn't help myself after reading the jacket). My first impression was that the book talks a lot about things that I have heard / read before. After reading further I felt like it pulled so much of what I already "knew" and gave it words that resonated better for me. Almost as if this book allowed those lessons to be more present in my everyday life. I found the advice and thoughts in the book both inspiring AND grounding which is a tough combination to master.

I found the book very well written and easy to read. You can read and reread this book easily. I doubt this is the kind of book you will want to read and get rid of. I am giving it as a gift but will most likely get myself a copy as well.

Great book!

Book Review - Billy Graham in Quotes

I review for BookSneeze®

Yet another Book Sneeze review. :D This time I had the privilege of reading Bill Graham in Quotes penned by Franklin Graham and Donna Lee Toney. This book was beautifully written. It is the perfect daily dose of Christianity and inspiration. The simplistic writing style and wonderful breakdown by category makes it the perfect companion to your bible. If you are a Christian person I am guessing (like me) this book will be living on your night stand next to your bible.

It would also make for a beautiful gift for a loved one. I plan to purchase this book for a couple of people in my life who I know would also be equally inspired.

Book Review - Be The People

I had another opportunity to read and review a book through Book Sneeze. (If you're a blogger who likes to read check them out!)

I review for BookSneeze®

I read the book Be The People written by Carol Swain. Swain is obviously a conservative Christian women which in itself could be off putting for some readers. As a conservative Christian woman living in a world full of people who it often seems have no morality I loved this book. In fact I couldn't put it down. The book covers a variety of relevant issues that are effecting our country and our families on a daily basis. To me the heart of the book is reasons why we are struggling as a country and how we get back to our fundamentals and start recovering.

I highly recommend this book to anyone (male or female) who feels our country is on the wrong track and headed for trouble.

Book Review - Achieving your Dream

I recently had the pleasure of reviewing the book Put Your Dreams to the Test by John Maxwell.

Here are my thoughts:

I got this book recently for my sister. I know she has been struggling with achieving her dreams. She has all the tools in place but can't seem to put them all together. Before I gave her the book I decided to thumb through it. I was mesmerized. I thought that I didn't have the need to learn the steps to achieving my dreams because I am already on my way. Boy was I wrong. Having the steps laid out in black and white is very freeing. It gives you the direction you need to get to where you want to be.

The only down side is you really do have to have a clear dream in mind for this book to help you out in life. But that being said who doesn't have at least one dream.

Book Review

I recently had the privilege of reading Save Your Marriage in Five Minutes A Day. While my marriage is very stable and secure I see marriage as a constant work in progress. I ordered this book (from Book Sneeze) thinking it would be a great way of staying on top of my successful marriage. I found this book to be very informative and helpful. It has tons of ideas for how to do little things to work on your marriage on a daily basis. I think this book might be less helpful for a marriage that is more unstable but for people like me it was great.

It was well written, easy to read and well researched. I found some of the information to be somewhat common-sensicle it produced many "aha" moments for me. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who feels that their marriage could be better. A great book!

Book Review

I recently had the privilege of receiving this book from Book Sneeze to read, review and give as a gift.

I ordered this book through Book Sneeze for my niece (who is more like a daughter) and when I read the book it brought tears to my eyes. It is a very simple read with only a few sentences (or less) per page but it is beautifully written, the paper is beautiful quality and it is tastefully illustrated. I highly recommend this book to a mother who wants something simple and sentimentel to give to her daughter, niece, God-daughter or any other girl you care about.

I highly recommend this book as a wonderful gift!

The Map: The Way of All Great Men - Review

I read and reviewed this book after receiving it from Book Sneeze. I had great expectations for myself and my husband to read this book and have more enlightenment. I was very disappointed. Both of us felt fairly quickly that the book lacked the draw to hold our interest. I continued reading hoping that it would creep up on me but it never did. My husband stopped reading it about halfway through. I am a Christian who likes to read biblically based books but just because something is biblically based doesn't mean it has to lack entertainment value.

I will say that the writing style was easy to understand and well written. I *might* consider reading another one of his books on a different topic.
